One can learn how to be more focused

One+can+learn+how+to+be+more+focused

From electronics to social media sites, students may find it difficult to stay focused. Fortunately, they can learn to do so.

Sophomore Keighanna Verdadero said, “I think one way students can become more focused is by getting more sleep. Students in this generation, especially high school students, lack sleep and stay up at night. Therefore, they can’t focus in school.”

Other ways include doing tasks that can be quickly completed and doing them in a timely manner. More ways to become more focused is to remove any electronics in the work area and minimize all noise.

One could also learn how to develop a longer attention span toward school work and other important work.

One could also have an incentive to do work.

With distractions all around, another way to minimize the distractions is to play calm music.

Counselor Donna Ramos said, “Some ways students can become more focused are turning off the wi-fi, make a to-do list, put time limits on each task on the to-do list and remove any distracting electronics.”

Richard Fisher, from New Scientist said, “Being able to focus on the important aspects of the world around us is crucial to nearly everything we do, be it driving a car, watching television or just walking down the street.”

Sophomore Tabatha Magarifuji said, “One way students can become more focused is to stop procrastinating. Often students procrastinate and do things at the last minute. Instead of procrastinating, students could do their work first then do other things.”

I have always had a hard time doing what I need to do, because there are so many distractions. I have always told myself “If I do it now, I have more free time later”. I’ve minimized my procrastination, and now I have perfect grades! Social Media can wait.

It’s so true; I have a hard time focusing on what I need to get done, such as homework and chores. I get myself to do what needs to be done by organizing my priorities and telling myself “If I get it done now, I have more time to do what I want to do.” I have almost stopped procrastinating, and I turn in all my work.

I think that all of these methods would be great ways to try to stay focused. Technology is definitely a big problem with teens living in the 21st century. By developing healthy routines and learning to avoid temptations such as surfing the web, one will soon grow the habit of staying focused both in school and out.
