Members of  the Academy K-Club welcomed special visitors from Duk Sung Girls’ Middle School, a group of 15 students and four teachers representing the Korean school.

Fifteen K-Club members had been pen pals of students at the school since last September.

Sophomore Bonnie Chapman met her pen pal, Da Hee Choi, for the first time.

“I had fun spending time with Da Hee,” Chapman said. “She was really sweet and taught me more about South Korea and its language.”

The teachers from Duk Sung also presented the K-Club with a Sisterhood Plaque, which stated that Duk Sung and Sacred Hearts Academy will maintain a sister-schools relationship and continue to collaborate in the future.

Sophomore Elane Namoca was excited and optimistic about the future of the two schools.

Namoca said, “I feel a stronger connection between Duk Sung and the Academy despite the fact that we come from different countries and speak a different language. I am excited for what the future has in store!”
