Lower School will celebrate Catholic Schools Week

Sacred Hearts Academy’s lower school will soon celebrate Catholic Schools Week on Jan. 27 to 31 with a different theme for each day.

The week begins with Monday’s Sweet Day when ice cream will be distributed to students and teachers by the Lower School Student Council.

Junior and Senior Kindergartners will have prayer and reflection time with students drawing pictures of their favorite Bible story or a picture of Jesus and Mary.

Tuesday is Crazy Hair Day. Funky hair designs, ribbons, braids and barrettes will be worn.

Lower school Dean Melanie Ah Soon said, “Each student will also write a letter to their parents or grandparents to thank them for sending them to Sacred  Hearts Academy and include why they love attending the school. The letters will be mailed out to the parents or grandparents by the end of the week.”

Wednesday is Whacky Sock Day as well as Teacher and Staff Appreciation Day. Students will have fun designs and mix/match ankle and knee high socks. A special treat of cookies from the Student Council will be given to teachers and staff to show their appreciation.

On Thursday students have School Colors Day when white, yellow and gold or school t-shirts will be worn.

For the high school, Thursday is LIFE day with a mass and a walk to Palolo Park.

Senior Tiare Moses said, “I am glad that during Catholic Schools Week we have the LIFE Walk. I would love if we could incorporate some of the activities the lower school does with the high school.”
