As the new school year begins, seniors start to seriously focus on college applications. On Sept. 10, Randall Fong, the college counselor, will hold Senior College Night at 6 p.m. in the auditorium for parents and students.
Seniors will be alerted to information about the common application, the Naviance on-line site, transcripts, financial aid and scholarships.
Senior Bo Taylor Samson said, “Last year I attended Junior College Night and learned a lot about the college process and what I needed to do my junior year so that I would be prepared for all the applications and SATs in my senior year.”
Senior Kara Takahashi agreed. “Last year’s college meeting made me realize that college is just around the corner and these next two years were really important in the application and acceptance process. This year’s college night will be full of information on apps and deadlines because there is so much to be done before January.”
College night will also feature guest speakers.
Fong said, “We will also have a guest from Jostens to give information on graduation announcements and purchasing of cap and gowns. Also a parent will be talking to the class about Project Grad.”
