The Honolulu Star Advertiser’s Keiki Day contest asked students to create art projects or write short essays that addressed this year’s theme of “Happy Healthy Hawaii, Holomua.”
Freshman Rhea Quezon, sixth grader Lauren Pau DeSantos and junior Lynse Chock won in the essay divisions for their grade levels. Freshman Nikaela Busekrus won in the art section for ninth graders.
Their pieces were featured in the Kids Day edition of the Star Advertiser. On May 8, the Parent Organization participated in the fundraiser by selling a special edition of the paper.
Parents were able to buy a Kids Day newspaper available at the auto line. Teamed with the Parents and Children Together (PACT) organization, the Star Advertiser was able to make this contest and this edition possible. All proceeds went to PACT.
