Former ‘N Sync member Justin Timberlake released his first new album,“The 20/20 Experience,” in seven years. The album contains 10 tracks which ingeniously weave in fresh new beats with Timberlake’s falsetto to perfection.
After the success of his 2006 multi-platinum, Grammy-winning “FutureSex/Lovesounds” album, Timberlake turned away from music to concentrate on acting. Many fans continued to question if a new album was coming.
The “20/20 Experience” first featured the hit single “Suit and Tie,” Timberlake’s first musical output since 2006’s “FutureSex/Lovesounds.” In the 24-hour period after the song’s release, the song skyrocketed to the top spot on iTunes in the U.S., Canada and the UK. Timberlake stays true to his R&B soulful roots but adds a fresh new take of contemporary R&B that can be heard through “Mirrors.”
The “20/20 Experience” is a near-perfect album yet recycles many ideas from the past successes of his previous albums. The R&B style of music is evident throughout. The whole idea behind the album is not really new and recycles the same formula from his past albums but still manages to be successful.
The “20/20 Experience” is the first of two volumes. A “20/20 Experience Vol. 2” is expected in November.
