The Class of 2014 is celebrating Junior Week Apr. 8-12 with the theme of “Big City Juniors.” Each day will feature a special activity, dress up and treat.

Junior Sharnelle Sagun said, “The theme of Big Cities is unique and interesting because no one has ever done it before. I can’t wait to see how it all turns out!”

On “Miami Monday,” juniors will wear beach accessories such as sunglasses, hats, leis and inflatables. During lunch and recess they will create a “graffiti wall” outside the PAC and receive a treat.

“Times Square Tuesday” will represent New York City, the Big Apple. Juniors will wear winter accessories, business attire or Broadway-themed accessories. They will give buttons to their little sister, the freshmen, that will say “I <3 my sister” from the famous product line of “I <3 NY.”

“We love Boston Wednesday” will be celebrated by wearing Boston sports’ team colors or jerseys from the Boston Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins. During lunch juniors will eat pizza from Boston’s Pizza.

Junior Elizabeth Serrao said, “I am really excited for Wednesday because Boston is my dream city to live in. Boston’s Pizza also sounds really good.”

“Thursday in the Big Easy” represents the city of New Orleans. Mardi Gras accessories will be worn on this day. During homeroom juniors will have lessons on swing dancing and they will be given a treat at recess.

Friday will close the week with the class retreat at St. Anthony’s Retreat Center.

Junior adviser, Elizabeth Gabriel, said, “From the dreams of the students to travel to various cities across the nation and experience their culture, the council wanted to bring the cities and culture to the Junior Class. This week will give them a taste of these cities and hopefully one day they can have a chance to visit them.”
