The latest trend on the Internet and for teenage communities is Do It Yourself (DIY) projects.
Junior Aimy Ung said, “DIY is do it yourself projects. It is kind of making or modifying something you’ve seen but maybe for a cheaper price.
“Since I do have a YouTube channel, I also post DIY videos. I make DIY videos on things that inspire me that I want to recreate or modify to my liking. I like DIY projects because I love being creative and sometimes it’s just cheaper to make it than to buy it.
“I myself have also watched DIY videos as well. So far, I have tried the DIY collar necklaces by missglamorazzi from YouTube. It turned out successful, and it was a fun project to work on. I also enjoyed it because I got to tweak it more to what my style is.
“I think that DIY methods are better because it is sometimes cheaper to buy the material and make it yourself because stores sometimes overprice their merchandise.
“Lately, I have been seeing a lot of DIY videos on gift ideas, clothing, hair accessories and room decorations,” said Ung.
On many social networking sites such as YouTube, people post instructional videos that teach others how to do certain things. Popular ones are about beauty, jewelry and clothing.
Junior Samantha Cacayurin said, “I have done many DIY projects that I have found on YouTube. I like to search up DIY videos on modifying clothes. For example, I learned how to cut old t-shirts a certain way to make a design, rather than buying new ones with a similar design.
“I also like to search DIY videos on different hairstyles. There are many things a girl can do to her hair, but most times they go to salons to get them done. Also, having the same hairstyles every day can get boring. From watching DIY videos, I learned more ways to style my hair for parties or casual outings. For example, I learned different braiding techniques like the fishtail. I also learned how to make bows so that I can pin them to my hair.
“I have also taken the opportunity to search different ways I could redecorate my room without having to buy new materials. I was able to put a design on my bedroom wall made out of old magazines.
“I like watching DIY videos because they help me take boring things and recreate them into something new. I also like it because I can save a lot more money than buying merchandise from the store,” said Cacayurin.
However, others take DIY projects to another level by selling what they have made.
Junior Kauionalani Kekuawela said, “I once watched my brother’s girlfriend making her own jewelry. After seeing her make them, I started to teach myself how to make my own earrings. Lately, earrings are so expensive. So, I thought that since I had the supplies in my home, I could make my own jewelry.
“Once I started to wear my homemade earrings, my friends told me that I could start selling them since they looked nice.
“From there, I started up another Instagram account featuring all my my designs and creations. So far, I have managed to sell a lot of my earrings,” said Kekuawela.

I think this was a really great topic for an article because its a great way to have fun at making crafty things, but for a reasonable price. It is also a great hobby to do on your free time. DIY is very fun and interesting because you can make ANYTHING you can possibly think of to make for yourself, as gifts for friends and families, and you can also use this method for school projects. This seems really entertaining and fun!

I think that this is a very good subject that relates to pretty much every girl, whether she is young, in her teenage years, or getting older. I like this subject because I look at tutorials on YouTube for these things as wells. Although I like your subject there are a couple of things that you could improve on in your article. I personally think that you should also include your own point of view of what you think about DIY projects.

I think this is a good way to save money, and instead of buying certain things for like a expensive price, you can just buy the things you need for cheaper and make it. I really want earring or bangles. They’re really pretty.

DIY is a good way to save money. At home projects are fun and easy to do. Making your own merchandise will be profitable to you. Because money is a touchy subject I use the materials I have to make my own projects because buying extra things will only take up more space and the money in your pocket.

I love Hawaiian shell earrings and I buy from some girls on Facebook.
