Sophomore Week, “Forever Our Outstanding Division,” or “F.O.O.D,” began on Feb. 4.

Sophomore Jaclyn Sakamoto said, “The council this year decided that we wanted to make this week relatable to everyone. I think that food is something everyone loves, especially when it’s yummy and free.”

The week began with “Mystery Monday.” During homeroom, sophomores played a game inspired by the television show “Blackout.” Each homeroom had a tissue box with different objects. The objective was to guess what was in the box without looking at it. The objects ranged from tortillas to peeled grapes. During one of the breaks, the council distributed popcorn to students.

On“Tropilicious Tuesday,” students were given “Tropilicious” ice cream. The flavors included lilikoi, chocolate, lychee and coffee.

Sophomore teasurer Pamela Nishida said, “Wednesday is ‘Fat Wednesday.’ We are giving the sophomores donuts during break. There’s nothing our division loves more than free food.”

The following day will be “Tourney Thursday.” The sophomore council will be holding a dodgeball tournament during lunch. Representatives from each homeroom will compete with the top teams continuing on to the next round, “Finals Friday.”

“Finals Friday” will be the continuation from the previous day’s tournament. Sophomores will wear division tee shirts. As a sweet end to a fun-filled week, sophomores will get a gourmet cupcake from Sprinks bakery.

Sophomore president Erica Freitas said, “In my house, whenever there is food we always have a good time. The council came up with this week in hopes that the results would be the same.”
