Sacred Hearts Academy’s Leo club is a service club sponsored by the Kamehameha Lions club. They participate in many of service activities throughout the year.

On Nov. 22, Leo club created holiday cheer at the Liliha-Palama Christmas Parade. Members decorated the trolley on which the Lions and Leos rode during the parade.

Leo club president, Kasandra Kitagawa, said, “Leo club participates in services that range from helping the Kamehameha Lions club to community clean-up and other various events.”

On Nov. 25, Leo club participated in the 26th Annual Adult Friends for Youth Hawaii fundraiser ball at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel. The Leos ushered.

“Every service that the Leos participate in turns out to be so much fun and it feels good knowing we’re making a difference in the community,” said sophomore Angela Hesch.

On Dec. 9 from 2 to 7 a.m sixteen Leo members assisted the Honolulu Marathon by directing walkers and holding flags along the path where the Marathon took place.

Sophomore Pamela Nishida said, “Leo club has expanded my service opportunities and the services are always fun and enjoyable. I am really glad I joined and I have already surpassed my 25-hour requirement.”
