Enhanced water is the new water

There are hundreds of different kinds of enhanced waters such as, Sobe, Gacere (VitaminWater), Funke, Snapple, etc. One may drink enhanced water because of its sweet, fruity flavor and it’s belief to be better for one’s health.

However, though it may be filled with vitamins and minerals, it does not discard the fact that it also contains calorie, and artificial sugar, sweetener and flavoring. The average enhanced water The extra calories and artificial sugar, sweetener and flavoring are not good for a strict, healthy 2,000 calorie diet. Enhanced water cost more than the average bottled water. If one buys enhanced water everyday, for a year, that is an extra $400 spent.

“I like drinking vitamin water but then I found out that they are not that good for you so I stopped and they are expensive.” Sophomore Danielle Ho.

Enhanced waters are good for people who want to quit soda and make the transition to water more easily. Enhanced waters are a good substitution for vitamin pills and a good vitamin source if one’s food intake was not the healthiest of choices. They are also good if a craving for sweets occur and enhanced are the healthier was to satisfy the craving.

“I like it because it because it tastes better than soda and it’s better for you than normal juice.” Eigth grader Paige Jimenez.

Even though enhanced waters are not unhealthy, natural water is still the best. Water contains everything your body needs to properly function and washes out all the waste in the body. Water contains all the nutrients your body needs and without anything artificial or enhanced.

Overall, while enhanced waters are a healthy artificial drink, water is always the best and healthiest drink.
