South Shore Market: A new spot for local gifts

Join the new wave of shoppers at South Shore Market, located at Ward Village in Honolulu.

South Shore Market, located at Ward Village, is not only a one-stop spot for last-minute holiday gift shopping but also, a place that’s changing the local shopping scene.

Made up of a handful of small local businesses, this eccentric market allows easy access to a variety of island flavors.

Thus, shoppers will no longer need to journey across the island in search of unique handmade gifts nor will they be limited to cliche Hawaii souvenirs, such as hula skirts or lei.

Looking for a quirky enamel pin? Head to Cameron Hawaii. Searching for a peculiar hat? Check Mori. Want ocean-inspired jewelry? Browse through Flotsam & Co.

And, coming soon, Lucy’s Lab Creamery will offer a special treat for exhausted shoppers. The ice cream shop sells unique flavors, such as whiskey bacon and honey lavender.

Stores like, Eden In Love, offer everything from pineapple cilantro candles to endearing mugs and stationary.

“Ward Village has helped my business grow from an Etsy store operating out of my home to a brick-and-mortar shop in one of Hawaii’s biggest shopping centers,” Flotsam & Co. owner Karen Sawicki said in a write-up on Ward Village’s website.

The boutique incorporates found materials into its jewelry, giving new form and life to objects which may otherwise be considered debris.

South Shore Market is located at 1170 Auahi Street. It is opened Monday to Saturday 9 a.m to 10 p.m. On Sundays, the market is opened from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more, visit wardvillage.com.
