The Academy’s brother school, St.Louis, rallied and won against Punahou on Oct.17 after a previous loss early in the season. With this win, the Crusaders forced an Interscholastic League of Honolulu(ILH) Division I Championship game that will take place on Oct. 24.

The last time St. Louis won against Punahou was during the 2010 season, when they also won their last state championship with quarterback, Heisman award winner Marcus Mariota.

The Crusaders are appreciative of the win, without which their season would have been over.

St. Louis slotback Joshua Tokunaga said, “I am extremely grateful for the win last week. It not only extended our season and move us into a position to play for the ILH championship, but it also showed us our potential as a team. It showed that if we play together, believe in each other, and keep our faith in God, we can overcome any adversities and succeed.”

Each week ScoringLive comes out with new ratings, ranking the top 10 schools in each division. Previously ranked second, St. Louis is now ranked in the top spot of Division 1.

The Crusaders have been working hard this week in preparation for the upcoming game.

Offensive tackle Aaron Miller said, “We have been blessed to play the ILH championship game. We have been preparing thoroughly for this game both mentally and physically. We have put in a lot of effort on and off the field trying to get ready for this Saturday.”

The championship game will take place at Aloha Stadium at 6 p.m. Crusader fans are encouraged to wear red at the game as it will be a “red out” to show support for the Crusaders!
