First graders honor mothers
May 13, 2015
First graders held their annual Mother’s Day celebration on May 6 when students enjoyed refreshments with their mothers. Students recited poems and read thank you letters to their mothers during the heartfelt gathering.
First grade teacher Wanda Pila said, “The moms were treated to a light breakfast of mini-muffins, fresh fruits, orange juice and iced tea. They were presented with a song, cards, coupons and a lei. In addition, a video was created by the students thanking and wishing their moms a Happy Mother’s Day. There were lots of hugs, kisses and tears of joy from moms and daughters. It was truly a memorable morning for every mom who attended.”
