Two student-directed plays, the final products of the Director’s Internship program, will be performed at “A Night of Choices” on Sunday, May 3.

Under the direction of Kyle Kakuno, junior Maya Mathur, sophomore Kaysey Siobal, freshmen Jenelle Ho and Taylor Mackenzie learned the ropes of directing a play.

The first play “Why?” is told through the eyes of a young child and explores the problems of alcohol and tobacco and the tragic consequences that can result from their use. Actors are junior Shannon Domingsil, and freshmen Jade Spallina and Celine Arnobit.

The second play, “True Friends,” tells the story of two girls who start as best friends but grow apart as one succumbs to peer pressure. Actors are junior Maya Waldrep, and freshmen Alana Glaser and Alexiz Hicks.

The hour-long performance begins at 6:30 p.m. at Mamiya Theatre and is free for students and families.
