The Sacred Hearts Academy Room Parent (SHARP) Board and the Athletic Board sponsored a malasada and bake sale on Apr. 9. The majority of items for sale were donated by parents.

Rodney Chang, Director of Special Activities, said, “It was a joint venture between the Athletic Board and the SHARP Board. It was primarily a fundraiser to raise monies for various projects around the campus, one of which is the weight room renovation.”

The turnout for the sale was extremely successful. A popular item among parents, faculty and students alike was the malasadas which quickly sold out before 8 a.m.

More than $3,000 in funds were raised from the sale.

Parent volunteer Keely Kim said, “The SHARP Board sponsored this bake sale so that the proceeds can go back into our funds, and we’d be able to, as a parent board, fund more things for the school and for the families.”

Chang said, “The SHARP Board would like to thank the volunteers for helping at the sale and the generous parents who donated baked goods to the sale.”
