Second graders successful in business endeavors

Second graders created their own shops in order to learn about potential careers and how to run a successful business.

Two malls, called “The Great Mall of Aloha” and “The Ohana Mall,” were made by students after interviewing Kahala Mall shopkeepers and formulating business plans. Students also spoke about their stores in oral presentations.

Shops included snack shops, book shops, boutiques and salons. After they were completed, the shops were open to students in grades junior kindergarten to 6, parents, faculty and staff with products for sale which had been donated by parents.

The second graders raised $1,515.57 which will be donated to a charity of the second graders’ choice.
