As the new school year kicks off, one group has already gathered its members as the new Living in Faith Experience (LIFE) team.

Seniors Nicole Pagdilao, Janelle Medrano, Shannon Domingsil, Sylvia Nguyen, Shayla Trinidad, Summer Tsukenjo, Katherine Garcia, Haley Bennett, Elizabeth Fischer, Nikaela Busekrus, Shajaira Fiesta and Kayla Galima hope to “Start a Fire,” the theme of LIFERs all over the country.

The theme links to a new social justice module that LIFERs will be focusing on to promote awareness about human trafficking.

As leaders of division retreats and school masses, the team is responsible for the organization of liturgical events throughout the school year.

Campus Minister Sr. Katherine Francis Miller said that the first retreat will be the retreat for sixth graders.

“The goal for retreats is to build stronger communities among students,” said LIFE moderator Anna Miyashiro. “The LIFERs are encouraged to create activities that will foster closer relationships with each other and to bring others closer to Christ!”
