Tuesday night five senior varsity volleyball players had their Senior Night and final game as Lancers, playing at home against Kamehameha Kapalama.
Senior Rebekah Kai said, “Knowing that we lost to them the last two rounds didn’t bring us down. We knew this was the last game for us and we wanted to try our hardest and leave the game knowing we did the best that we could.”
A win against Maryknoll this past season left the team with its first win in two years.
Kauionalani Kekuawela said, “We were so happy after that win. It gave us hope and confidence looking forward to the rest of the season.”
The team accomplished this under the direction of new head coach Kelly Ong.
Senior Lydia Mcshane said, “She has been one of the best coaches I have ever had. She was very influential, inspirational, driven, experienced and always pushed us to do our best.”
Although the seniors did not win, they played their best.
Senior Tiare Moses said, “I’ve been looking forward to my Senior Night ever since I was a freshman. I am happy to say I have no regrets. We played hard and represented our school the best that we could.”
Senior Anjelica Barker agreed. “Although we lost, it was I an enjoyable game. We are very thankful to our classmates, teachers and families for supporting us through our high school careers and making our Senior Night memorable.”
