“Right now lots of companies and schools have been utilizing social networking as a tool to get their goals across to the public, especially Facebook,” Randall Pong, Technology Coordinator, said.
With emails clogging up users’ inboxes, the school decided to go online using Facebook.
Toni Normand, Special Programs Director said, “We want to be able to keep in touch with our graduates and let them know what’s happening.”
Facebook is convenient not only for adults but also students who want to know what’s happening at school.
Sophomore Sidney Palea said, “ The school’s Facebook page gives me info about what kind of events are happening at school. I know that I won’t miss out.”
Before the event occurs, Normand posts information so that alumnae and students can attend the event. Following the Gala or other events, Normand posts pictures and information.
Normand said, “ Our Facebook page is to communicate with people the way they like to. It’s easiest for people because many are already on the site. The audience of this page is primarily alumnae of all ages, many from the last few years, parents and friends.”
