Sacred Hearts Academy’s annual Grandparents’ Days took place on Sept. 26 and 27 for the high school and lower school, respectively.
The Academy has been celebrating grandparents for the past 15 years.
Special Programs Director, Toni Normand, said, “It is a way to honor very important people. Many grandparents support students financially, or by coming to events, so we want to let them know how much we appreciate them.”
Grandparents’ Days have proved to be exciting for grandparents and their granddaughters. Past activities included grandparents interacting with their granddaughters in a lesson and doing different crafts and activities depending on the class.
Junior Alexis Fraga said, “Both sets of grandparents come for Grandparents’ Day, and it’s really nice for them to see what I take for classes and my different teachers.”
“I only see my grandparents a few times out of the year, so it’s nice to see them when they visit for Grandparents’ Day,” junior Kyrie Holmes said.
This year over 614 grandparents came to Grandparents’ Day.
“We had a good turnout,” Normand said. “We had an especially large number of grandparents coming for the Senior Class. We thought that was great.”
