“America was not built on fear. America was built on courage, on imagination and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand”-Harry S. Truman.
Determination is a key element in all success stories. An individual needs to have a resolute personality to achieve anything of value.
Any project encounters difficulties, but it is up to its leader to persevere through the struggles. If every individual surrendered immediately upon facing difficulty, America wouldn’t be as successful as it is today. Perseverance is the only element that can see a project to its completion.
Most societies respect hard workers. A determined personality will build an admiring class of colleagues. Successful business associates who are self-made and represent the ultimate rags-to-riches stories are held in higher esteem than others who inherit their fortunes. Hard workers are treasured in their communities.
“A ship in a port is safe, but that’s not what ships are built for.”-Grace Murray Hopper.
Life is meant to be challenging; the world is not perfect or simple. If one avoided difficulties, nothing worthwhile would be accomplished. People build resilience by facing and overcoming challenges they meet every day. If the universe does not present conflicts that require determination, life is meaningless.
One can argue that determination is not an absolute necessity for success. However, the path to triumph always has difficulties in the way. Determination can conquer struggles. Without it, one may not fulfill one’s potential or reach beyond the known or safe.
Perseverance proves to others that an individual is capable of conquering difficulties. Demonstrating a persistent personality provides evidence of a determined personality. Forfeiting the mission due to lack of resolution is the worst form of defeat. Determination not only validates one’s competency, it is the only route to success.
