Senior Macy Koko has been recognized as Lancer of the Month for February. Koko is the sole senior on the Lancer varsity softball team, leading by example and displaying unswerving effort in every competition.
Koko said, “I’m the only senior on the softball team, and it is often difficult to carry the team by myself. Despite this, my teammates have led me to being successful and I feel incredibly blessed to receive the recognition for my dedication.”
Theology teacher Cristina Smith said, “During softball season, she gets her assignments done quickly because she really comes to life on the field. I had the opportunity to watch her play and she is a natural leader on the field. She’s tough but she gives it her all. I cannot tell you how great it is to have Macy as a Lancer of the Month.
Yearbook teacher, Gaylen Isaacs, echoed the praise, believing Koko’s qualities extend beyond the softball field.
“Macy is hard-working, responsible, dependable and unassuming. She goes about completing any assigned tasks with little fanfare. She is ethical, realistic and likable. She is respected by faculty and students alike,” said Isaacs.
In addition to playing softball, Koko is a member of the Sound Crew at the Academy and maintains a 3.2 GPA.
