Junior High students begin the second semester with Junior High Week on Jan. 13, the theme of which is “Winter Wonderland.”
Each day has a different theme with activities for students. The week includes Marshmallow Monday, Twin Day Tuesday, Whiteout Wednesday, Theatrical Thursday and Freezing Friday.
On Marshmallow Monday, hot chocolate will be served to students. Twin Day Tuesday includes “little” and “big” sisters coordinating matching blue and white accessories. Junior High students will be hitting snowman pinatas for Whiteout Wednesday. Theatrical Thursday includes a group drama performance during lunch in the auditorium which includes dances and skits. Finally, Freezing Friday students will wear winter clothes including scarves, gloves and boots.
Junior High adviser, Joyce Hall, said, “Our Junior High division council worked really hard to make a fun week for our students! We hope that everyone participates and has a great time bonding with one another to create a loving and accepting community.”
Council member, Celine Arnobit, said, “January is National Mentoring Month. The Junior High Student Council also organized a school supply drive to collect school supplies to donate to Palama Settlement to assist with their educational classes and programs for youth and adults as a part of our Junior High Week.”
