Members of the Outreach, Unity and Renewal (OUR) club participated in a traditional Halloween event at Loliana Hale on Oct 30.
OUR club has hosted holiday parties for Loliana Hale, a transitional housing shelter for families who have lost jobs and homes, for many years.
OUR club teamed up with the Interact club to host this year’s party for the children at Loliana Hale.
Members painted faces, applied temporary tattoos and played games with the children.
Senior Nicole Corpuz said, “All of the children were friendly and talkative. When I applied the water to the temporary tattoo, I asked them to count along with me and they were eager to demonstrate their counting skills.”
OUR club centers its activities on community outreach. The club’s activities give students opportunities to share and help others and remind them of their own comfortable lives.
Senior Seyeranne Lat said, “This was my first time participating in this event and it was such an eye-opening experience that I wish I had participated in the years before.”
Senior Erica Cadiz said, “Witnessing the joy on the children’s faces when we gave them goodies and interacted with them reminded me to be more grateful for the simple things in my life.”
