Lower school art classes held their first art show in the Clarence T.C. Ching Student Center on May 5 from 3 to 4 p.m. Students in grades 1-5 each had a piece in the show while sixth graders had two.
Art teacher Malia Urie said, “At the beginning of the year, I wanted to create something that would celebrate and show all the students’ talents and accomplishments. With a lot of work from the students and myself, we came up with the first annual art show.”
Grades 1-5 displayed ceramic pieces while sixth graders featured two dimensional paintings and three dimensional ceramic pieces and sculptures.
Urie said, “The girls all created very different and beautiful pieces. I am so happy about how successful the evening went. The parents were thrilled to see what their daughters all came up with.”
