This year’s annual Keiki Day contest, sponsored by the Honolulu Star-Advertiser and Parents and Children Together (PACT), incorporated the theme, “Happy Healthy Hawaii, Holomua.”
Students in grades 1-12 were challenged to address the importance of staying healthy and fit through original stories, poems, essays and artwork. One winner per grade is selected and winning entries will appear in a special edition of the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.
This year, four Academy students won in art and essay divisions. including sixth grader Lauren Pau DeSantos, freshmen Rhea Quezon and Nikaela Busekrus, and junior Lynse Chock. Winners will receive over $100 in cash and prizes.
The Keiki Day edition of the Honolulu Star-Advertiser will be published on May 8 and copies will be available to students across the island. It is a fundraiser supporting PACT.
