“Emperor” recalls the unpredictable days following Japan’s World War II surrender by Emperor Hirohito.
General Douglas MacArthur (Tommy Lee Jones) finds himself temporarily in charge of post-war Japan, relying on Japanese culture expert General Bonner Fellers (Matthew Fox) to investigate the legality of the Emperor’s wartime actions.
The film also illustrates Fellers’ search for school teacher Aya (Eriko Hatsune) who first brought him to Japan. Torn between personal desires and his mission, the general struggles to prioritize his actions.
Though “Emperor” has recognizable actors, viewers will be disappointed by the performances. The film is underwhelming and has an anticlimactic finish and therefore is not worth seeing.
“Emperor” is rated PG-13 for language and violent content.

This movie looked good at first but once the article mentioned the reviews for it, I wasn’t very interested after. If the performance was better, I guess I would go and see the movie.
