“Imagine Dragons,” a rising American indie rock band, released “Night Visions” in September 2012. The band is composed of frontman Dan Reynolds, guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist Ben McKee and drummer Daniel Platzman.
Following in the footsteps of “The Killers,” “Imagine Dragons” is the latest rock band to emerge from Las Vegas and head toward stardom. The band released three extended plays, EPs, before finally being signed by Interscope Records in late 2011.
Many of the band’s singles were used in advertisements and movie trailers. “Night Visions” soon became popular in the United States ranking number two on the Billboard 200.
“It’s Time” is filled with upbeat hooks along with hand-clapping. Despite the varied and diverse sound throughout the album, “Imagine Dragons” is able to achieve its stadium-rock sound.
The band’s goal has been to take their personal experiences and spin them into something redemptive and uplifting. “It’s Time” was written by Reynolds during an emotional time in his life.
The band is commended for the quality lyrics throughout the tracks in “Night Visions.” The lyric ability of the band presents another admirable dimension.
“Night Visions” suits a wide audience through powerful songs like “Radioactive,” celebratory songs like “On Top of The World” and emotionally-driven songs like “Amsterdam.” With the release of the new album, “Imagine Dragons” has arrived onto the mainstream music scene. The album is available in stores, on iTunes and Youtube.
