Studies show that breakfast is vital for teenagers and young adults. Students sometimes skip breakfast because they lack time at home.
At The Clarence T.C Ching Student Center, breakfast runs from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m, is available to students and parents and can be paid for using a student identification card or cash.
Items for breakfast include meats such as bacon, sausage links and Portuguese sausages, scrambled eggs, fried rice, hash browns and tater tots. The menu also features various pancakes such as strawberry, blueberry, banana and chocolate chip. French toast, cereal, blueberry and strawberry parfaits, fresh fruit, bentos, cereal sandwiches and bagels are also available.
Sophomore Kauaolikokalani Arelliano said, “I love the breakfast at the Student Center! I go there every morning to get either bacon and eggs or pancakes. It is very reasonably priced and always tastes amazing.”
“I have to wake up pretty early and don’t usually have time for breakfast so I rely on the Student Center to have something that I like to eat. I think Sodexo has a wide variety to choose from, but their fried rice and bacon is my weakness,” said eighth grader Carlee Matsunaga.
