Active in many projects, sophomore Mikayla Sweitzer participates in charity, service, business and school work.
Sweitzer said, ” I’m an active member in the Spanish Club, HHSA (horse show events), healthy eating class for students at Kaimuki Middle School, Kennedy Theatre and volunteer work at Sacred Hearts Academy. I also cater baked goods and run a culinary blog. I volunteer at horse show events, healthy eating classes and the Kennedy Theatre because I have a strong passion for everything and try to give back to many things that I have the time to. I do the services but also because they’re relative to me or that I feel I can specifically help with.”
During horse show events Sweitzer is known for her extensive background with horses and riding. Sweitzer is in charge of duties from setting ribbons to keeping riders and horses safe.
Sweitzer not only has a love of serving her community but also baking which has made her a renowned culinary blogger.
“The blog is my main project. It’s loads of work, but rewarding when I can aide others, be recognized and meet people all over the world. I’m chasing what I love and what I hope my future is full of,” Sweitzer said.
Being a good student is also a priority of Sweitzer.
“My love of blogging and baking ensures that I make sure my school work is completed so that I have time for what I love. Time management is important but it becomes a schedule.”

Great job on this article Sydney! I really enjoyed how you wrote an article about a student who is passionate for her hobbies and prioritizes school work. I enjoy reading about students who set a great state of mind for the Academy.
