The class of 2013 decided that instead of having a Senior Week, it would skip school and go to Sea Life Park.
Senior Day allowed students to have fun with classmates and create more memories together.
Senior Class adviser, Wendi Vincent, said, “I gave the seniors the choice of having either a Senior Day or a Senior Week last year and they they all wanted a Senior Day.”
The location of Senior Day was a surprise to students until the actual day. The theme of the activities was based on “The Hunger Games.”
At Sea Life Park, seniors watched the morning dolphin show, participated in races, played in a bouncy house, took pictures to create flip books and had temporary glitter tattoos.
Senior Saya Hayashi said, “I wasn’t really looking forward to Senior Day because it was at Sea Life Park, but it was a great experience and more fun than I thought it would be.”
Students from other divisions admired the seniors’ clever idea of having an option between a Senior Day or Senior Week.
Junior Tiffany Atud said, “I think the seniors were able to bond much more as a class in that one day than in any other division week they previously had.”
Senior Janelle Sabugo said, “Senior Day was a great bonding experience for our class and I think it made us all realize that senior year is going by fast, and we need to spend time with each other.”
Senior Day proved to be successful in serving its purpose to foster friendships, create memories and enjoy time with friends, old and new.
