The Killers, consisting of Brandon Flowers, Dave Keuning, Mark Stoermer and Ronnie Vannucci Jr., are back with their fourth studio album, “Battle Born.”
This is the first album since the Las Vegas-based band’s extended four-year hiatus, following 2008’s third album “Day & Age.” The album title “Battle Born” is an allusion to the state flag of Nevada, where the band is based. The album’s first single “Runaways” has already been released.
Flowers’ voice is rich and soulful as he belts out each song on the album. The music evokes a retro feel, similar to a soundtrack of an ‘80s movie. In “Runaways,” Flowers croons about young love and the stresses of marriage.
Fans who enjoy pop rock with indie undertones will enjoy this album. Those who have been fans of The Killers’ music will recognize similarities between the album and the band’s other album, “Sam’s Town.”
The album is available for purchase in stores and online on iTunes and Amazon.
