VEX teams compete at state level

Lancer Robotics teams 2437A and 2437B traveled to Maui for the VEX HECO Hawaii State Championships on Jan. 10.

Team 2437A qualified for the competition by winning the Design Award in the McKinley Vexposition on Sept. 9. Team 2437B was invited to the championships because of available space.

Forty teams from Maui, Hawaii and Oahu participated. The top three winning teams will go to the 2015 World Competition in Kentucky. The winners of the Excellence Award, the Design Award, the Programming Skills Award and the Robot Skills Award will also attend.

Academy team 2437B ranked 26 while team 2437A ranked 36 in the Maui competition.
