At the Student Council Club Fair today, students could choose from over 21 clubs.

“It’s good to interact with students and encourage involvement in clubs,” said senior Kristen Andres, representing the Speech and Debate Club.

Clubs ranging from Korean groups to the sailing team hosted booths and invited students to preview what the groups offered and to sign up.

Several clubs recruited many new members, including the Spanish Club that had 24 new students sign up halfway through the event.

Clubs advertised their organizations with poster boards, games and giveaways in hopes of enticing students to join.

New groups, including Girls who Code, premiered at the fair. Girls who Code teaches members how to code web sites and applications. The goal is  also to develop critical thinking and learn how to solve real-world problems.

“From this club, you learn how it all works, the process of technology,” said senior Jessica Manuel.

Girls who Code attracted over 30 new members.

Each club addressed newcomers’ questions and motivated more to sign up.
