This year, Sacred Hearts Academy reopened its Lancer Locker in a new campus location, offering more merchandise such as uniforms, aloha attire and school accessories.
The new location, next to the Upper School faculty lounge, was designed to make shopping easier for students, families and alumni, Parent Board President Haukea Ho ‘97 said.
“The Lancer Locker was made (for customers) to have easier access to school essentials,” Ho said. “It’s also for students who may need new uniforms or are missing uniform items (during the) school day.”
The store is open on Mondays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students should check in at the Upper School office for access if the store is closed. They can purchase uniform items, such as ties, if they forget theirs at home.
The Lancer Locker also features a Kahulaleʻa collaboration offering family aloha attire, including dresses and collared shirts, as well as waterproof picnic mats, blankets, beach totes, keychains, water bottles and footwear.
Students appreciate the new space for its accessibility and updated look. Even though some students have not had a chance to shop there yet, many have heard positive things about its setup and appearance. It features portraits of the school’s uniforms through the years.
The store is operated by alumni, including Ho, whose team has also received praise from students.
“They are welcoming and kind,” sophomore Avery Alcantara said, adding that their efforts help students feel supported and proud to represent their school.
According to Ho, the new store also aims to boost school pride with displays that highlight the Academy’s signature yellow and white colors.
As the school continues to grow, Ho said the Lancer Locker will remain an essential resource for all students. It will ensure that everyone has what they need to represent the Academy with pride.
