Third graders recreate ‘Starry Night’

The third grade art classes created their personal interpretations of Van Gogh’s iconic painting,“Starry Night.”

Students used oil pastels to create texture and replicate brush strokes seen in the painting. A layering technique was used to capture the vibrant colors and movement in the piece.

Lower school art teacher Malia Urie said, “They worked hard on these, and I am very proud of them. They’re now being displayed in the art cabinet next to the Lower School’s office.”
