Trending App: Wishbone
Iced fraps or milk teas? Vans or Converse shoes?
These are just a few “this or that” type questions found on trending app Wishbone. The app allows users to choose between two options and has attracted more than four million users since launching in May 2015. Users are typically females between the ages of 14 to 18.
As a social networking platform, teens have a public profile with a picture and biography. They are also able to follow other users. However, it is different from other apps, like Instagram and Snapchat, because users are not revealing who they are but rather what they prefer.
“It sounds like fun, and I think I will give it a try,” Academy junior Angelyne Loiselle said.
Every day, Wishbone compiles a feed of the best surveys. After users complete the curated feed, they are able to view a community feed or visit their friends’ pages for more polls.
The app not only allows users to vote on options but also to create polls for others. The questions usually reflect matters that are currently trending or related to pop culture. According to experts, the app has grown in popularity because it provides a platform for users to voice their opinions.
