The Bontog family home was severely damaged by fire and family members were hospitalized for a time.

Sacred Hearts Academy is holding a dress-down day for senior Dominique and eighth grader Tatyanna on May 18.

For a small monetary donation, students, faculty and staff can wear a Sacred Hearts Academy shirt with jeans or knee-length capris or basketball shorts. Footwear includes athletic shoes, covered shoes, casual flats, sandals, rubber slippers or Crocs.

Student donations go to homeroom teachers until May 15.

Monies collected will be used to help the family replace clothing, household items and important school supplies that were destroyed in the fire.
