Senior Kelli Keahiolalo, two-time state qualifier for track and field and an ILH Soccer All Star Selection, has been named Lancer of the Month for April.
Keahiolalo was elated and grateful for being selected.
“Receiving the achievement was a great honor,” said Keahiolalo. “I was nominated multiple times throughout the year so actually winning it was a bit overwhelming and exciting.”
Keahiolalo has been involved with soccer since the age of five and a member of the Sacred Hearts track team since her sophomore year.
Enjoying soccer and track for the competitive aspects, Keahiolalo appreciates the new experiences she has gotten from her involvement in athletics.
“Being involved in sports has allowed me to meet new people and gain a better insight on life itself,” Keahiolalo said.
“Throughout her time at the Academy Kelli has shown outstanding improvement as a student and athlete raising her GPA to as high as a 4.05. Her track and field coach says over the last two years he’s watched her rid herself of distraction and tap into her potential. She has become committed to self-improvement and is a fierce competitor,” said Athletic Director Ryan Hogue.
