The Honolulu National College Fair, hosted by the National Association for College Admission Counselling (NACAC), is “dedicated to serving students as they make choices about pursuing postsecondary education.”

College counselor Randy Fong emphasizes to students that the fair allows them to speak to representatives from many universities.

“Attendees will have the opportunity to ask representatives specific questions that will aid them in choosing which colleges to apply for,” said Fong.

The event is scheduled for Apr. 16 at the Hawaii Convention Center. The fair will be open at two separate times: 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. but students should attend the later session at the end of school day.

About 150 accredited colleges will be in attendance, including Arizona State University, Gonzaga University, Saint John’s University and Linfield College.

Workshops about paying for college and becoming a well-rounded student will also be offered.

Fong said that college fairs make the college search more fruitful.

“Students will be able to explore the different options out there,” he said. “It is also a great time to find out what scholarships are available from knowledgeable representatives.”
