Sacred Hearts Academy Room Parents (SHARP) is sponsoring a workshop for  students in grades 7 to 9 and their parents to improve family relationships.

The March 28 workshop, entitled “Start the Conversation,” will discuss how to build healthy relationships and help parents set boundaries and communicate about difficult topics with their children.

The workshop will also sponsor a Public Service Announcement (PSA) contest with students asked to make a video about staying within personal boundaries. Categories include  healthy communication, self-respect and setting boundaries as focus areas for the PSA.

The video must include safety tips, do’s and don’ts and how personal boundaries are crucial to relationships. The entries will be viewed by  Soroptimist Club of Waikiki members.

The workshop features speaker Brooke Conway, Manager of Education and Community Outreach at Hawaii Pacific Health, and is sponsored by the Soroptimist International of Waikiki Foundation, Inc.

Parents who are interested in attending should RSVP to Joyce Hall at jhall@sacredhearts.org; The event is from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. with dinner served after the presentation in the Clarence T. C. Ching Student Center.
