January 8, 2015
Known as “Voice, Visual, Value in Excelsis,” South Korean boy band VIXX sings about the difficulties of life and love in its newest mini-album, “Error.” The album was released on Oct. 13 and climbed to 3rd place on the Billboard World Album Charts.
“Error” features songs which effectively balance guitar and piano with dubstep, producing a fresh twist on mainstream music. Ravi, a member of the group, composed and wrote the lyrics to most of the tracks.
“Error” is also the title track, based on the sadness that follows the loss of a lover. VIXX explores the concept of heartbreak by portraying themselves as cyborgs, which serves as a metaphor on how life’s events can change a person. The song has claimed 1st place on multiple Korean music shows and is popular among Korean youth.
Another fan favorite is the album’s sixth track, titled “What U Waiting For.” The song is addictive with its strong dubstep beat and soft piano and tells the story of a man who is questioning why his lover hasn’t come to him.
Listeners will enjoy the album’s individual tracks with different music combinations. The album will also expose fans to different sides of Korean pop and raise interest in Korean language and culture.
“Error” is streaming on iTunes, Youtube and the Korean search engine Naver.
