Leos host animal awareness day
October 24, 2014
Leo club members lined Waialae Avenue before school on Oct. 24 for Make a Difference for Animals Day, waving signs in an effort to promote animal rights, such as the spaying and neutering of pets, ending animal cruelty, stopping puppy mills and opting for adoption rather than purchasing from a pet store or breeder.
Freshman Celine Arnobit said, “I felt satisfied that I was able to inform people about properly caring for their pets. Hopefully, I encouraged at least one person to be aware of the problems animals are facing. I love animals and this was my way of showing my support for them.”
