Academy’s RWDC team returns from Washington, D.C.

Academys RWDC team returns from Washington, D.C.

The Academy’s Real World Design Challenge (RWDC) team, the state winners, went to Washington, D.C., in April to participate in the RWDC Nationals. Team members were senior Emily Suber and juniors Catherine Sequeira, Jasmine Quinn and Angela Wong.

Adviser Deborah Kula was pleased with how well the students did.

“The competition was stiff, and the team did not progress to the top three, but the most important part of the program remains the phenomenal learning opportunity for the students. We can all be proud of them.  They represented Sacred Hearts Academy and Hawaii very well,” said Kula.

Suber commented on the team’s experience in Washington.

“We all had a great time in D.C. seeing sights and participating in RWDC Nationals. I was surprised to see that we were the only all-girls’ team at the competition. I was disappointed that we didn’t place in the top three, but I am proud of the work we put into our notebook and the presentation and how well our team worked together,” said Suber.
