Senior Jessica Hanashiro, recently named Scoringlive Athlete of the week after helping to lead her team to a win over the reigning two-time Oahu Interscholastic Association(OIA) D1 champion Roosevelt, has been named Lancer of the Month for November.

Athletic Director and coach Ryan Hogue said, “She has shown tremendous growth in her work ethic, attitude and leadership. Her teachers say she is a hard worker and a leader. Some students look up to her for her camaraderie and friendliness to those around her.

Hanashiro is co-captain of the Academy varsity basketball team and ranked 8th in the Scoringlive power rankings. In addition to basketball, she participates in track and field. Hanashiro finished the first semester with a 3.8 GPA.

Hanashiro said, “I am thankful for receiving this award. My coaches, teachers, family and friends have helped me to accomplish all that I have today. Through my years at the Academy, I gained valuable friendships and lessons that I will cherish forever.”
