Update: CyberLancers teams complete Round 2

The CyberPatriot’s Round 2 featured three “virtual images,” Windows Vista, Windows 8, Ubuntu and a Cisco networking quiz. Contestants competed in Round 2 nationwide from Nov. 14 – 16.

The CyberLancers Gold team of seniors Leeyannah Santos, Angelyn Tabalba, Kristen Kate Tumacder and Xuyan Zhang competed on Nov. 14 from 4 to 10 a.m. Though they had a few difficulties with the Windows Vista “virtual machine” in the beginning, the team managed to score 51 out of 100 points. The team achieved 44 points for the Windows 8 image and 66 points for the Ubuntu image. The team also received 100 percent for the Cisco networking quiz.

The second CyberLancers team competed on Nov. 14 from 3 to 9 p.m. The team consisted of juniors and returning members Wei Yi Huang and Janelle Inao, seniors Hee Chun and Gaeun Kim. The team scored 59 out of 100 points for the Vista image, 69 points for the Ubuntu image and 53 points for the Windows 8 image. They also achieved 22 points out of 33 points for the Cisco networking quiz.

Both teams are currently preparing for the State round on Dec. 5 – 7. The CyberLancers Gold will compete on Dec. 5 from about 10 a.m. to about 4 p.m. The CyberLancers will compete on Dec. 7.

To prepare for the State round, both teams are training through the Cisco Networking Academy.
