“If I Stay” by Gayle Forman is about 17-year-old Mia who has been in a terrible car accident. Before the tragic accident, her life was perfect. She had a gorgeous rock star boyfriend, parents who loved and supported her and a bright future filled with music. Mia thought that nothing could go wrong, but after a brutal car accident, everything fell apart.

Mia has no memory of the accident but remembers bits and pieces afterwards. All she knows is that her parents were killed, and her brother is barely alive. Throughout the story, Mia has flashbacks of her life before the accident. Now, between life and death, Mia has to make the most important decision she’s ever going to make.

“If I Stay” is a tragic story that will make readers appreciate the meaning of life. Its constant flashbacks and heartwarming memories will make readers’ hearts ache with sadness.
